Another Side of Middle-earth

Have you ever had one of those moments where you see something really cool, say to yourself, "Oh, I'll remember it..." and then forget it? I have. But luckily I had a Eureka! moment recently as to remedy my forgetfulness.

I was browsing the web years back and found something I thought was cool--at the time: some info on an indie film that has, as of March of 2009, been out for two years or so--I think. I'm not sure. All the info I can find is somewhat vague.

Anyway, I was googling--wait...is that a word? Yes it is. I was googling the crud out of "middle-earth" and just looking for...I don't know...anything about it. Yes, I am a big Tolkien fan. I came across this info on this indie film called Ancanar (info here). Long story short: I forgot it, remembered it a few weeks ago, forgot what it was called, and then I found this page. Check it out.

Tolkien/LotR Fans:
I don't know how Ancanar fits in Tolkien's universe--if at all. It's like, "Okay, it has elves and men and junk--but what is this 'Rammoth Valley' deal--what's that all about?" I don't know. It's possible the writer(s) meant for it to be a post-Lord-of-the-Rings, fourth-age-type deal. It's actually more like Eragon--you know, the movie version that didn't do so hot in theaters? It looks more like that from what I can see in a trailer I found on YouTube. One source says it's "inspired by the works of Tolkien," but it looks more like a cheap copy of Tolkien's works--like the Inheritance stuff. Or it could be a spinoff. Or, maybe--just maybe--a legitimate attempt to make a sequel to The Lord of the Rings. I don't know. Tell me that you think.

Okay, the info I gave you above was bad--try this.
